So you just got a ceramic coating, what's next?
The steps to take as you begin your ceramic coating journey. How to care and maintain your ceramic coating protection to get the best results.
Ceramic Coating Maintenance
For aftercare:
**Washing regularly is the most important item.**

-
Immediately following installation of your ceramic coating - Keep clean and free of mineral / water spots for 48 hours.
-
Do not wash with soap for 5 days unless needed to remove bugs.
-
Wash ceramic coating with LO PH* Car Shampoo regularly. No Wash & Wax Shampoo. Other soaps can leave residue that temporarily messes up the beading and allows dust and dirt to stick more readily.

Water Source
First and most important step to making sure you are optimizing your car care skills, is to begin with using spot free water, also known as (Soft Water). This step is not required but is highly advised; to avoid any risk of contamination on paint. There are many available options into making sure you are using soft water such as a Deionizer Tank or filter. A DI (Deionizer) Tank system removes the minerals from the water. In the U.S., about 90% of people get their drinking water from public water systems. These systems draw water from either surface sources, like lakes, rivers, and reservoirs, or from groundwater found in underground aquifers. These reservoirs of water typically contain natural elements and minerals. The most common minerals are (Iron, Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium, Copper, etc.). These minerals can accumulate on vehicle surfaces, especially if the water is allowed to dry directly on the surface. The most common question asked is. How do I know if my water is contaminated? The simple answer is if you are not using a soft water system for your home, chances are there are contaminants in the water that are not harmful to a human; but can cause water staining on your vehicles Paint, Trim, Glass, Wheels, etc. As we explained earlier this step is not required, but it is very important when working in direct sunlight.

Water Output (Pressure Washer)

Once you have your water source figured out, you can move on to the distribution of that water. Most people have a pressure washer laying around; or can easily acquire one. Which is why our next crucial car care necessity is (you guessed it) a Pressure washer. Typically the safe range to be in to avoid any damage to paint or vehicle is between (1200psi-2000psi). Another important spec to consider is the water output and gallons per minute(GPM). Again a pressure is not required but will greatly help in the process. There are various options currently available on the market. We like to recommend a smaller electric unit. Not only to save space while in storage but with compact electric units we ensure the process to start and maintain the pressure washer is seamless.
